Everyone at Innovate Services has a vital role to play in making sure that our social workers can make the impact that they do. Here, we catch up with another one of our amazing Operations Coordinators, Hollie Carter.

Hollie, could you describe your typical day?

“That’s quite a challenge because although I have processes I must follow as an Operations Coordinator, I also have to be extremely reactive.

“My overall responsibility though is to keep a track of the teams of social workers on my allocated projects. My role is to help ensure that project KPIs are met and that every aspect of the work our social workers deliver is evidenced. This involves tracking the team’s activity each week and recalling additional information, as required.”

What do you enjoy most about your role?

“I enjoy the variety that each day brings. No day is the same and you are never stuck for something to do. From STRATS and trackers, to taking notes at meetings, each task brings a different sense of satisfaction. I love to help people, and even though I am not on the frontline helping children, I think the work I do is something to be proud of.”

Is working on different projects rewarding?

“Yes, it is. I enjoy starting a new project and watching the outcomes for different children take place. Keeping track of an individual’s journey, I get to see the progress our social workers make to ensure children have the best possible outcome. Personally, I love this aspect of my role.”

Did you have previous experience of working in social care?

“No, I didn’t but I had a lot of experience in administration, from data entry through to proofreading, fact-checking of documents, minute-taking, timesheet management and filing. I had quite a rounded experiencing in coordinating other people’s work when I joined Innovate Services.

“I was delighted when I was offered the role at Innovate Services because I knew from the outset that it would fast-paced. Each day was going to be different and hard work, which pretty much sums-up my work ethic.”

How would you describe Innovate Services as an employer?

“Working at Innovate Services is a joy. It’s nice to enjoy coming to work. The entire team are fantastic, and you leave the day feeling good about the work you have completed. I wouldn’t wish to work anywhere else.”

How do you make sure you balance work with life?

“I spend a lot of my time with my French Bulldog Buster, he is my pride and joy.
I also love going on a Sunday walking with my friends, choosing a different hike each week with the hope of climbing Snowdon in the New Year.”
